Five Things I Hate About Being An Uchi Deshi
1. I hate it when I compare myself to others–particularly extremely talented individuals. It makes me feel inadequate and gives me a bad attitude on the mat.
2. I hate taking the last class of the day. Especially if I have trained hard in the ones before.
3. I hate getting colds all the time. having a sore throat and a runny nose makes practice very difficult. Plus people don’t like training with you when you sound like a fog horn and dirty tissues fall out of your gi when they throw you.
4. I hate it when the person you are training with resists your technique so they have an excuse to correct you.
5. I hate it when personal matters affect my ability to concentrate in class.
