Our School
The Aikido Center of Jacksonville is the oldest school in northeast Florida, and the only school in Jacksonville, affiliated with the Aikido World Headquarters in Japan. Established in 1992, we were a pioneer of Aikido in northeast Florida. Our school, a member of the United States Aikido Federation, is under the direction of Yoshimitsu Yamada Sensei, an 8th degree black belt and direct student of the Founder of Aikido, Morihei Ueshiba.
What makes us unique? A few things, really. As a member of the United States Aikido Federation, the largest Aikido federation in the United States, we have a direct organizational link to the birthplace of Aikido worldwide. Our affiliation means your rank will be recognized in over two hundred schools in the United States, and thousands of schools internationally.
In addition, due to our affiliation, we are fortunate to have access to the most experienced Aikido instructors in the country. With schools located throughout the United States, our organization has a deep bench. Our Chief Instructor is the highest ranked instructor in Jacksonville recognized by world headquarters. She is also the only certified Aikido instructor in north Florida.
