New Students
Please welcome Marla, Sidney, and Tauryn to the kid's class, and Paul, Joshua, and Hector to the adult class. If you see a new face, go ahead and introduce yourself. And to our new students—welcome!
Our twentieth anniversary seminar with Peter Bernath Sensei is just around the corner. Scheduled for Saturday, October 13, we will be celebrating twenty years of Aikido with our friends and students.
To celebrate the occasion, Kevin Johnston designed our eye catching flyer. In fact, we like it so much that we've decided to print a few t-shirts with the design. If you want one, let us know so we can reserve your order.
For our early orders we are making the t-shirts available at cost, which is ten dollars. We'll be placing the order soon, so please let us know.
Kids' Halloween Party
Our Halloween party is just a full moon away! This year, we've scheduled it for Saturday, October 27th, at 6:00 p.m. Our annual Halloween party features costumes, balloons, candy, spooky songs, and awesome decorations. Check out our 2009 bash for an idea of what we have planned.
Parents' ClassOur third parents' class is back by popular demand. Since we have several new students in our kids' class, we decided to organize another exciting class for our new parents.
Scheduled for Saturday, November 3rd, parent's class is a chance for our parents, with the help of their children, to experience Aikido first hand. For our kids, it's a way to show Mom and Dad how much they've learned. And for our parents, it's a fun way to spend some time with the kids.
Our nineteenth movie night, and the first of the fall season, was held this past Saturday at the dojo. Fifteen of our younger students participated, which consisted of playing Aikido games, watching the heartwarming movie The Muppets, and eating pizza, popcorn and brownies. We all had a great time.
Our next movie night is scheduled for Saturday, September 29th. As always, guests and friends are welcome.
Our thanks to Buck and Laura Jane for hosting a delicious Memphis style bar-b-que at their home this month. Dee and I had a great time, as I know the other students did also.
