The year was 1992, The Cure cracked the top forty with “Friday I’m in Love” and Curtis Rosiek, a student of Tom “Doc” Walker Sensei, opened a satellite dojo in Jacksonville while completing work on the Acosta Bridge.
All we know of Curtis are the recollections of our earliest students, and a pair of orange mats, beaten nearly to oblivion, with his name marked clearly underneath.
The picture above, taken circa 1996, shows Dee in an (almost) brand new uniform.
