Planning a trip to Port St. Lucie? Perhaps you’ve always wanted to visit the Everglades, (before it disappears, of course.) Or maybe you’re in the mood for a tasty snack of alligator tail. (Yes, it’s edible. Yes, it tastes like chicken.)
Then why not mosey down to Treasure Coast Aikikai? The dojo, led by the very capable Luke Machado Sensei, opened its doors in 2012 at the Port St. Lucie Civic Center.
Luke started his Aikido career at New Bedford Aikikai, before beginning his apprenticeship under Yamada Sensei in New York. While at New York Aikikai, Luke taught numerous classes, as well as serving as dojo manager.
And as an added bonus, you’ll get to train with Tonya, who started her Aikido career here in Jacksonville, before moving to New York for her apprenticeship as an uchi-deshi.
Luke is great. Tonya is great. You should train there.
Luke is an excellent aikido teacher, and Tonya is an excellent aikidoka. I’d definitely come to this dojo if I’m ever in the area.
I agree. The few times I’ve taken Luke’s class in New York, I really enjoyed it.
Tonya’s great too! 🙂
